The Andersons had big plans for the holidays. With family flying in from across the country, their home was set to be the heart of Thanksgiving celebrations. But just weeks before the big day, disaster struck—their fridge broke.
A Simple Fix Turns Into a Major Problem
At first, it seemed like an easy fix. They found a sleek, modern fridge they loved and ordered it immediately. But when it arrived, they realized it was too big for their kitchen opening. Determined to make it work, they grabbed a few tools and decided to DIY the drywall around the entryway. One miscalculated cut later, and what started as a simple appliance swap turned into a full-blown kitchen headache.
Calling in the Experts
With Thanksgiving inching closer, they knew they needed professional help. That’s when they called Prosper Home & Land.
The Fixer-Uppers Meet the Experts
When we arrived, we saw the damage firsthand—the torn-up drywall, the uneven cutouts, and a fridge awkwardly parked in the middle of the kitchen. But as we talked through their home’s layout, another pain point surfaced: their laundry room.
Serving as the main entrance for the family, the laundry room had become a cluttered, stressful space. Shoes piled up, coats draped over appliances, and every grocery trip turned into a game of “where do we put this?” With the upcoming holiday, they wanted their home to feel open, organized, and welcoming—not cramped and chaotic.
The Plan for a Seamless Upgrade
So, we came up with a plan:
✔ Expand the kitchen opening properly to fit the new fridge seamlessly.
✔ Repair and finish the drywall to make the space look intentional and polished.
✔ Reimagine the laundry room by adding functional storage, a bench for seating, and better flow for daily use.
Just in Time for Thanksgiving
Our team worked quickly, ensuring everything was wrapped up before the holiday rush. By the time Thanksgiving arrived, the Andersons had a fully functional, beautifully updated space. The new fridge fit perfectly, the laundry room felt organized and inviting, and they were finally able to welcome their family with a home that worked for them—not against them.
